Also called to the local repair shops and they said we should go with Sears as they should be fixing it for free as there is a class action lawsuit going on against kenmore and LG!

Apparently, it is very common for the system to develop pinholes so it won't retain the refrigerant, which renders the whole thing useless!

Due to covid there are very little refrigerators to choose from in the size I need and they are not immediately available. I ended up having to pay $397 plus $59 a month for Sears Home Warranty plan. It will be several thousand dollars to replace them. Replaced compressor and faulty wiring. The refrigerator is 8 years old. So, I asked for a number for Kenmore and the number took me right back to Sears service. We purchased our Kenmore Elite model #795.73167.610 in August 2018 with extended warranty. After reading what everyone has gone thru, I dont know if I want them to come out now. Lost couple hundred dollars in food and still without a refrigerator or an estimated time of repair at this point. I am guessing it will be $350 on labor based on Sears estimate. Ive lost food and now I do not have a refrigerator due to the financial burden this has put on me.

I look in the Parts Diagrams model, in Internet, and the top door frame or door cover, is not available as a part, the door assemble have to be order.

These repairs covered parts and labor and were paid by the factory. Our refrigerator is 3 years old and they said fortunately the compressor is covered but labor is $650!

Only one who won from all this is LG making millions off consumers.

It is now November 7,2018 a Sears repairman came out after another Service Company was out 3 times and they got my water dispenser working but the unit still wasnt cooling they said that another complaint file would have to be started before they could replace the defective compressor.

I asked why we needed it, was told that LG makes the compressors (Kenmore doesnt anymore) and that the compressor has to be compatible with THEIR circuit board and that the one in our refrigerator is not compatible. I paid for a sears service person to come and assess the issue.

Fridge stopped working and I called customer service 888 536-6673 and was told by rep Carmen that due to recall and class action lawsuit if the problem was the compressor which has a 10 year warranty I would only be charged a $129 service call, the compressor and its installation would be free of charge. Sears will only cover the cost of the compressor and not the labor, etc. Everything in this refrigerator is plastic, parts and all with the exception of the metal plating in the back and screws, etc.

It was very difficult to get hold of Sears to fix it. Six years later in Bentley v. LG Electronics U.S.A. Inc., Kenmore refrigerators were facing legal action again but have recently reached a proposed settlement. He replaced the compressor which cost me around $350.

It's a scam. they offer their repair service which will cost you $300 each time to repair in my case it is every year thing and LG customer care is not willing to help in any way.

These two businesses are crooked!!! Sears tech came out said it was the compressor, but didn't have the parts, he ordered them, rescheduled, he called to make sure the parts came in they had not, ordered them again, rescheduled, he called and they had arrived misspelled name right address. My Kenmore Elite Refrigerator stopped cooling on 12/31/22. Formally, the plaintiffs are accusing LG and their Kenmore refrigerators of breach of warranty, violations of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty and New Jersey Consumer Fraud acts and fraud by concealment. Service Tech did not show. Feel if it moves freely by hand. Would certainly like compensation not only for repairs, but for all the lost food.

After resetting the circuit board, he said it start working and would take 24-48 hours. Convinced seal/leak system is the cause (faulty compressor).

Where is our government officials help in this matter? I call LG tech support and did a smart diagnoses over the phone and they were able to know the refrigerator status.

Ugh, we also bought the Kenmore elite 5 years ago 1 compressor replaced after a week having it, 1 year later it went out again.

This LG model compressor is defective and the local appliance repairman refused to service it because of its faulty nature and history of class action lawsuits.

He is going to replace it at the cost of $1370.00.

It wasnt worth it, so now were scrambling trying to find a cheap little fridge just to get us through the next couple weeks. He charged me $100 to do nothing but say the compressor is bad, youll have to go through Sears and showed me a clause in th instruction booklet that states sealed refrigerant systems (compressor etc) were covered parts only for an extended period of time.

+ we had to pay for a $89.

I bought all Kenmore as they are about the only repair on Hawaii island.

My husband suggested getting this repaired and putting it in our garage as a backup but how long would at last a few months possibly a year .

Currently the fridge is sitting in a corner not working no repairman wants to touch it!!

I have a kenmore/LG trio refrigerator purchased in 2016. Since last visit no longer dispensed ice or water and makes loud noisethese last 3 are all new since last tech visit.

I am disappointed in the tech's repair service, the product unreliability, and the loss of spoiled food twice. We purchased a Kenmore Elite (LG Mfrd) French Door, Freezer on the bottom refrigerator in April 2015, with a 3 year warranty.

replaced the compressor and $959 dollars later it started to cool down again. I just had to pay 500 for a new inverter- after waiting more than 2 weeks for the part, I have to pay another 250 for another board that the new inverter says was not working.

Now the compressor is not working again.
